Abishai was one of King David’s mighty men, a loyal warrior that could always be counted on. The name Abishai means “gift of the father”, or “Gift of God”.
In 1st. Samuel 26:6 when David is about to go down to face his enemy King Saul, Abishai says; “I will go down with thee”.
